It is actually a jazzy, groovy 'made in Malaysia' musical written by Marcel Nunis and composed by Michael Veerapen, and it was first staged nearly 30 years ago in 1980! The current re-staging is directed by Harith Iskander, and features Vince (of Akademi Fantasia season 1), Ash Nair (of Malaysian Idol season 2), Harith Iskander himself, Elaine Daly, Chelsia Ng, Ina Fabregas, Marielle Fabregas and Thor Kah Hoong. Frogway starts showing on 23th Aug - 2nd Sept and it's a 'full house' shows everyday!!
Overall i think the play was great. Very entertaining indeed. The storyline is simple and kindda staright forward but thanks to the great music, great singers and great act from lines of great casts. With big names working behind the scenes such as Michael Veerapen, Marcel Nunis, Sean Ghazi and many more, i guess it worth every cents watching it. And i dare to say that Malaysian theater scene is most definitely blossoming.. especially in the last few years. Malaysia boleh!
I was really impressed with all casts especially Vince(Eddy the frog) & Ina Fabregas(Helen the fish). These 'frog' & 'fish' really sings like an angel..pheww!! And yes, Chelsia Ng(Shirley the Frogette) is very good..i mean really really good. She's funny too hehe.. If i have to choose the 'best actor/actress' for the play that night, Chelsia (with a combination of decent acting and a comical accent) is my pick. She's simply adorable.. no wonder she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in FFM19. Others like Harith Iskandar, Ash Nair, Elaine Daly(she's damn gorgeous..i tell u), Thor Kah Hong & Marielle(she's only 14.. my God) also done their bit very well.
